Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose HPMC can be divided into quick dissolving and slow dissolving. The appearance of the product is powdery. The product of instant hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose has the suffix "s" of the brand, for example, cy-100000 s is the instant product of cy-100000. Instant products are surface treated.

Use method of instant hydroxypropyl methylcellulose:

This method is the most simple and time-consuming method

1. Add a certain amount of boiling water into the stirred vessel with high shear stress (hydroxyethyl cellulose products are soluble in cold water, so cold water can be added);

2. Start stirring at low speed and sieve the product into the mixing vessel slowly;

3. Continue stirring until all particles are wet;

4. Add enough cold water and continue to stir until all products are completely dissolved (the transparency of the solution is obviously increased);

5. Add other components in the formula.

Preparation of mother liquor waiting for use: this method is to prepare the product into a higher concentration of mother liquor, and then add to the product. It has the advantage of greater flexibility and can be directly added into the finished product. The steps are the same as those in (1-3) of the direct addition method. After the product is fully wet, it will be cooled and dissolved by standing, and then fully stirred before use. It should be noted that the fungicide must be added to the mother liquor as soon as possible.

Dry mixing: after fully dry mixing the powder products and powder materials (such as cement, gypsum powder, ceramic clay, etc.), add appropriate amount of water, knead and stir until the products are completely dissolved.

Dissolution of cold water soluble products: cold water soluble products can be directly added into cold water for dissolution. After adding into cold water, the products will sink quickly. After wetting for a certain time, start stirring until completely dissolved.

Precautions for preparation of instant hydroxypropyl methylcellulose solution:

1. The products that have been treated by instant treatment shall not be used in food and pharmaceutical products.

2. It must be slowly sieved into the mixing container, and it is not allowed to directly add a large number of products or lumps into the mixing container.

3. Do not add some alkaline substances to the mixture before the product powder is soaked with water. If the pH value is increased only after being soaked, it is helpful to dissolve.

4. As far as possible, fungicides should be added in advance.

5. When using products with high viscosity, the weight concentration of mother liquor should not be higher than 2.5-3%, otherwise the mother liquor is difficult to operate.

6. Water temperature and pH value of water have an obvious relationship with the dissolution of products, which should be paid special attention to.
