Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is a kind of non-ionic cellulose ether, which is made from natural high molecular material (cotton) cellulose through a series of chemical processes. It is a kind of odorless, tasteless and nontoxic white powder, which swells into a clear or slightly turbid colloidal solution in cold water. It has the characteristics of thickening, adhesion, dispersion, emulsification, film formation, suspension, adsorption, gel, surface activity, water retention and protective colloid.

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is mainly used in building materials, coating industry, synthetic resin, ceramic industry, medicine, food, textile, agriculture, daily chemical industry, etc.

Physical and chemical properties:

Properties: HPMC is almost insoluble in anhydrous ethanol, ether and acetone. It is rapidly dispersed, swollen and dissolved rapidly in cold water. The solution is quite stable at room temperature and can gel at high temperature, and this gel can change with the temperature and the solution. It has excellent wettability, dispersibility, adhesiveness, thickening, emulsification, salt drainage, water retention and film-forming properties, as well as impermeability to oil. The film has excellent toughness, flexibility and transparency. It can be compatible with other emulsifiers because of its non-ionic nature, but it is easy to salt out. HPMC has the property of thermal gel. After the product is heated, the gel is precipitated and then dissolves after cooling. The gel temperature of different specifications is different. The solubility changes with viscosity. The lower the viscosity is, the greater the solubility is. The properties of HPMC with different specifications are different. The dissolution of HPMC in water is not affected by pH value. Specific gravity 1.26-1.31. Discoloration temperature: 180-200 ℃, carbonization temperature: 280-300 ℃. Gel temperature (0.2%) 50 at 90 C.

Cosmetics:

● shampoo: improve the viscosity and bubble stability of shampoo, detergent and detergent.

● toothpaste: improve the mobility of toothpaste.

Packaging, storage and transportation

The product is packed in plastic coated polypropylene woven bags (Chinese characters or English characters) lined with polyethylene film. The net weight of each bag is 25kg. During storage and transportation, it shall be protected from sun, rain and moisture.
