Main purpose

1. In building construction, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is mainly used for external wall insulation system, insulation mortar, decoration mortar, masonry mortar, self leveling mortar, etc. It is suitable for centralized dry mixing and premixed mortar, with thickening, water retention, film-forming and adhesion, which can improve the workability, anti slip and slurry pumping performance.

2. In decorative construction, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is used to stick ceramic tiles, marble, etc., with high viscosity and strength, and can also reduce the amount of cement.

3. It is used for plastering gypsum, water-resistant putty, bonding gypsum, caulking mortar and cement-based plastering, which can significantly improve its water retention and bonding strength, and has the characteristics of good workability and no cracking.

4. As a thickener in the coating industry, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose can make the coating bright and fine, do not de powder, and improve its leveling.

5. It is used as suspending agent and binder in ceramic glaze to make the pigment evenly dispersed in the glaze.

6. It is mainly used as suspension polymer dispersant in industry. Due to the excellent dispersion and gel retention ability of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, products with regular particles, concentrated particle size distribution, appropriate specific gravity and excellent processing performance can be obtained.

7. In other industries and departments such as petrochemical industry, construction, printing and dyeing, tobacco, daily chemical industry, papermaking, leather, agriculture and forestry, it is widely used as thickener, binder, water retaining agent, film-forming agent, emulsifier, excipient, etc.

Usage method

Rapid dissolution: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose HPMC can be dissolved in water and some organic solvents under continuous stirring. For rapid dissolution, the following methods are recommended:

1. Make porridge mother liquor for standby use: first make HPMC into porridge mother liquor with high concentration (the method is the same as above to sludge slurry), supplement cold water and continue stirring until transparent.

2. Dry mixing: because HPMC has good compatibility, it can be easily mixed with cement, stone sliding powder, pigment and other dry mixing, and achieve the expected effect.

Dissolution method

This product is easily soluble in cold water, and the following rapid dissolution methods can also be used:

1. Slowly and evenly add cellulose at room temperature, and keep stirring during the addition process until a transparent solution is formed

2. Dry mixing: in case of mixing with other powder, it shall be fully mixed with the powder first, and then add water to dissolve quickly without agglomeration.

3. Organic solvent wetting method: first disperse the product into organic solvent or wet it with organic solvent, and then add it to cold water or cold water to dissolve it well. Ethanol, ethylene glycol, etc. can be used as organic solvent.

Application area 

■ thermal insulation mortar, ceramic tile binder, pointing agent, plastering gypsum, plastering and masonry mortar;

■ coating thickeners, dispersants and stabilizers;

■ ink industry as thickener, dispersant and stabilizer;

■ plastic forming release agent, softener and lubricant;

■ secondary products of cement and gypsum;

■ shampoo and detergent.

Packaged in 25kg composite bags, packed in PVC bags and palletized (1.9 cubic meters per ton)

Storage and transportation

Rain and sun protection, fire and moisture protection, closed and ventilated storage, and transportation shall be handled as non dangerous goods.
